I am such a slacker!!

I can't believe how long it has been since I really blogged last... oh dear... There has been a lot going on! I don't think I really want to talk about it all... we would be here all day haha! Anyway, I have been taking a picture every month of my prego belly (used to be fun... not so much anymore haha) so here was last months....

This was me at 24 weeks... sorry about all the stupid poses... I take my own pictures in my always messy bathroom.

I took these ones the other day and I was noticing that I am really looking pregnant from the front oh man... This is only 28 weeks haha... i have a while to go!

Here is a side view of 28 weeks... I am getting so fat haha... (don't you love my fake smile... I wasnt too excited to take this picture...)

ANYWAYS, on a happier note, a couple weeks ago we Ray decided he was sick of a huge crib box just hangin out in our extra bedroom.  So here are a couple fun pictures of him assembling our awesome crib! We don't have a mattriss or any bedding for it yet so there isn't a completed picture.... hopefully that will come in the next month or so!

Next, we went to Best Buy to buy a new camera for or upcoming vacation and ray pulls into this spot and I start freaking out at him because he is parking in a handicap spot.  Then I look at it and start laughing haha! Probably the BEST parking spot ever! (sorry about the skewed windshield wiper... I tried to take it without it but failed.)

Since I am not going to school or working or anything I have been trying to find things to fill up my time. So I have been figuring out how to make these cute baby headbands! (These are only a select few... I have too much time on my hands so I have a ton!!) The Tan one is my favorite I think! :)

And, one of the biggest things we have been up to this last month is that we sold our car! :( We sold cute little blackie and bought a used toyota corolla. Or cute mazdaspeed3 was costing too much money so we down graded! It was a HUGE hassle and we had to deal wit a TON of stupid pushy salesmen but in the end it is worth it! We can now buy regular gas instead of the premium stuff! yay!
This is my sad face.  I am still kinda sad when I see mazda3 hatchbacks but I really dont ever drive anywhere so a cheaper car was the way to go!

Goodbye blackie... you served us well! We will miss you!

Anywho... That is really all that has been going on... OH besides that it is now officially summer time! Ray got done with his school year on June 5th and we partied... ok we just went to a movie but that is as crazy as we get around here... haha but other than that we have just been hangin out! We are excited to go on our vacation this next week! We were originally going to try to go to Hawaii but I had an anxiety attack when I saw how much it really would have costed us.  I am a cheapo so we decided to just go to San Francisco, California instead! We will leave this sunday (June 12... Yay happy 2nd anniversary to us!!!!!!!!!!!) and we will have some good times before the rest of the crazy summer chatches up with us! This will be our happy 2nd anniversary/Babymoon vacation! :)

That is all I really have for now. I will post pictures from our vacation next weekend sometime maybe!
so... Enjoy.. or not! It's your choice!

I heart music!

So I discovered this song today.  I don't know how I didnt know about it before because I really love Staind... ok well some of their stuff is good like this song but others I can't handle... but I LOVE THIS SONG!!! It's called Tangled up in you! Such a cute song!

Tangled Up In You Lyrics

You're my world
The shelter from the rain
You're the pills
That take away my pain
You’re the light
That helps me find my way
You’re the words
When I have nothing to say

And in this world
Where nothing else is true
Here I am
Still tangled up in you
I’m still tangled up in you
Still tangled up in you

You're the fire
That warms me when I'm cold
You're the hand I have to hold
As I grow old
You're the shore
When I am lost at sea
You're the only thing
That I like about me

And in this world
Where nothing else is true
Here I am
Still tangled up in you
I’m still tangled up in you

How long has it been
Since this storyline began
And I hope it never ends
And goes like this forever

In this world
Where nothing else is true
Here I am
Still tangled up in you
Tangled up in you
I’m still tangled up in you
Still tangled up in you

Just thought I would share! :)

April Showers!! :)

Last week was general conference and my moms birthday so we got to go hang out in Heber for the weekend and it was fun! I always like being around the fam. :) anyways.. I got bored the week before and wanted to make my mom something for her birthday so this is what I made and I think it is pretty awesome!

I think I will make myself one that is red, white, and blue! it was really fun and kept me entertained while Ray is at school!! :) It made a nice easter/spring decoration at my moms house and I am glad she liked it!

I have also taken a picture of me getting fat... ok jk I really need to stop saying that but up until recently that is how I felt haha but now it is feeling more baby bump than fat!

So here it is! me at 19 weeks! I am excited for it to start getting warmer so I can start wearing my shorts and actually going outside... I am so white!!!

Yesterday we were able to go have our anatomy scan done.  It was originally supposed to be on wednesday but there was a misunderstanding and the ultrasound tech. went home before we were able to get the problem fixed.  That is ok though, one day didn't kill us and it's not like we don't have months to get ready for the baby! So anyway, we went in yesterday and the baby looks good and healthy so that is good! The tech. tried so hard to find out the gender throughout the whole ultra sound and the baby didn't move enough to get a super good shot of it but the tech is pretty sure it is a girl!

Here is where they got girl from... it is a little faint but you can see the leg across the middle of the image and where there is a lack of anything else haha...

In this one you can see the cute little hand next to the face and belly!

and in this one I just like that it makes the baby look like she has chunky cheeks and a cute round head. That is probably the best part!

Anyways..... That was the exciting news for this month haha I go in next month but there will probably not be any fun news to share... besides that I have to do the stupid glucose test that I have heard horror stories about. So my news will probably be about that haha.

I found the CUTEST crib bedding and I am seriously going to buy it! I found it like a week ago and decided that I would buy it no matter if it was a boy or girl! :)
Isn't it soooo... cute!! I love the owls haha and I even went to Burlington Coat Factory and saw it and it is just as cute in real life. So there ya go! :)

But on another not we FINALLY found someone to take over our lease (suckers) for this awful basement we have been in and we are moving! YAY! I am so sick of this dungeon of an apartment and all the sucky problems that we have had to deal with (including the landlords.. they are weird and we have a hard time understanding them sometimes...). So we just got an apartment across bangerter highway that has 2 bedrooms and is on the top floor so we don't have to hear kids banging extremely loud all night and morning. So that has been keeping us busy all week! And that has been our lives in a nut shell or the past little bit! Sorry it was so long! (maybe I should blog more than once a month and then maybe these things wouldnt feel like a novel!! haha sorry!!!)

Enjoy! or not... Your choice!

March 1, 2011

Surprise! :)

Making decisions has always been quite a struggle for me.  I am not really a fan of "change" and I tend to put off a lot of things because it is easy and I won't have to deal with people... haha... But there comes a time when I have to grind my teeth and actually lend my brain to said decision making and just get it over with. Like ripping a band-aid off.. although that has always hurt just as much as going slow for me so maybe that is not a good analogy... However, today, being March 1, 2011, I have made a decision! I am going to spill the beans to all those of you who don't already know... which is kind of most of you... but hopefully this will be one of those things I can cross off my list! :) So before I decided to procrastinate again I will begin.

It all started one wintery day back in December. We had spent the whole week out and about for Christmas and were finally home December 26th for Sunday.  And this is what I did the second I woke up.  (I had suspected as much from the obvious lack of mother nature but took one just to be "positive" haha)

Then the next step was to find a doctor. Ugh... one thing I hate more than change is going to the doctor.  and FINDING one is even worse but needless to say I couldn't exactly put this off seeing as how this isnt something that will go away on its own haha. Anyways, I just decided to go to a doctor who was super close. I go to the IHC hospital a block away from where we live and my doctor's office is conveniently located right next door to the labor and delivery section of the hospital.  So I have been to a couple appointments and last appointment I went to was the one where they listen to the heart beat but the lil' kidney bean was a stinker and wouldn't cooperate so they sent me to get an ultrasound and we got these fun pictures! :)

You can kinda see the face and it's little legs but that is about it haha

In this one it just looks like a smudge. haha not very cute but it has a heartbeat so no worries haha

Anyways I go in again next week but I assume that appointment will be pretty uneventful and we wont get to know the gender for 4 weeks after our next appointment so I wont have anymore fun news until then... sorry... but I am due August 30th and today I have entered into the 2nd trimester so it's easy sailing for a couple months. Although, I haven't had a hard time yet.... I haven't thrown up once! My only real pregnancy problem is that I have a hard time sleeping at night but that isn't really a new thing. i have always been a sucky sleeper.  So I guess I have been lucky in the morning sickness department.  And I have only gained 4 lbs. since Thanksgiving so that is good... although I still just look fat and not pregnant. Just fat. ugh... anyways.. so that is my good news and no I will NOT be posting this on facebook.  If anyone really wants to know they will be able to hear it here or by me telling them. So there it is! :) Ray and I have been talking about going on a vacation (or "babymoon") this summer haha and I REALLY want to go to Hawaii! If I am not into the "no flying" time of pregnancy I am pretty sure that is where we will go! If I am that just sucks and we will go spend a week somewhere fun in utah... although I am not convinced there is such a place but who knows! :) So cross your fingers for us that we will be able to go soak in the sun at the beach in Hawaii before our lives take a HUGE turn.

So now that that is over I just wanted to share a little bit of what I have been up to for the past little while.  I don't have a job (Ray works more than enough for the both of us! ;) ) and I am not going to school anymore.  I take the occasional trip to Heber.  I always hated Heber when I was in high school and I totally took it for granted.  Living in Salt Lake Valley for the past 2 years has opened my eyes to how much I miss the "country".  Ray and I went up a couple weeks ago to hang out and when we were on our way home this is what we saw! I know it's not very impressive of a sunset but I thought it was fabulous! The air isn't smoggy and the mountains have always been my favorite part of this city! I do enjoy the mountains after the point of the mountain in Draper and Sandy but they will never be like Timp. to me!  I don't really miss seeing people from high school all the time but I do miss my family and being able to see this view all year round, everyday!!

Pretty! :) I can't wait until summertime when all the trees are green and the sunsets turn pink and purple!

So next on the list of things that have been keeping me company is this cute dog. No... he is not my dog. He is my sister and brother-in-laws dog but isn't he so freakin cute!? I get him on most Mondays and now that it is warm enough to go outside that is what we do! His name is George haha and he is just a puppy still but he has gotten so big!

He just learned a new trick! they have taught him how to sit! You just say sit and he does it! It is the cutest dang thing ever because he is so little and cute! haha

Look how little he was! aww... cute George!

It's funny to see the difference in just a small time! the top one was taken yesterday and the bottom one was taken the day after Nicole bought him!  He can be a little stinker but at least he gets me outside! He is crazy! but I still love him! :)

Anyways, that is all I have for now!
Enjoy... or not! As always.. it's your choice!

January 10, 2011

I hate January.

Having a blog during holidays, birthdays, and big surprises is easy.  What the heck am I supposed to write when absolutely nothing is going on?! haha That actually isn't true, I have just chosen my actual journal over this blog for a couple different reasons. One of them being sheer convenience.  I am actually sick of being on the computer! shocker... I know... and my journal tends to stalk me throughout my house... I don't know if I just pick it up because I want to write in it and then set it down and forget about it until it creeps up on me later on or it it just magically knows where it needs to be when I need to write in it! anyways, I think January is one of the most depressing months of the year.  All year I get so excited for december! Birthdays, Christmas, family time, no absences of my husband for hours on end for the stupid mink, etc., all make December, literally, the happiest time of the year! This year was no exception! we got so much stuff that a lot of it remains unopened and unused! :) but now that the holidays are over I am left with my unfinished housework and literally an empty house! Ray decided that the Monday after christmas we were going to rip down our tree. Depressing, believe me I know.  He said it was because he wanted to do it when he had energy and was actually home to do it. sigh....Ray had to go back to school last week which sucks for me and my tendency toward boredom.  I am in the process of finding things to occupy my time but unfortunately blogging hasn't been high on my list and probably will stay that way for some time.

It's funny how fast the time flies.  Ray and I have been married for a year and a half and counting, I have two adorable little nephews and one adorable niece (ok not true... I have 3 adorable nephews and 2 adorable nieces! I can't forget about the two angels Gavin and Carissa!) I can't believe how big they are all getting!  Elle and Mikey are 3!! I have pictures of them at me and Ray's wedding and they were so tiny!! and cute Braxton just keeps getting more chunky every time I see him! It's crazy! We had our family pictures taken right after christmas too.  My mom wanted an updated family portrait because the last one we had taken was when Amber was still prego with mikey! There have been several additions to the fam. since then! and.... she wanted to do it before Jesse left for basic training for 7 months!  So here are a couple. I stole them from facebook.

happy birthday Mikey!! He was so cute when he opened all his presents! he would say "oh cool!" and "Awww!" and everything before he even knew what it was! haha he is very polite when it comes to his reaction to receiving presents!

Here is the up comming michelin man!! He is sooo chunky it makes me giggle! and so smiley too! I love this picture because it shows the 20 chunky rolls up his arms! haha i Love it!

and cute elle! She was so cute when we opened presents for Christmas! Grandma gave her princess dresses and she danced and sang for us! it was cute! I heart her!

anyways, last month I also got to hang out with my best friends from high school! I have missed them!  It is crazy that we have been graduated for almost 5 freakin years! It makes me feel old... and I am only 23!! but yet I guess 23 is kinda old... most people my age are onto their second or third (or fourth....) child and I'm not even at one haha.... That's ok though. I have enjoyed by time of no real responsibilities!  It's been good to me! :)  I just get to enjoy everyone else's kids and then send them right back when I am done with them!  anyways, the first time we went to dinner and then to see Tangled (best movie ever btw...) and then the second time to P.F. Changs and temple square!

I think our waiter (and all the other people in the restaurant for that matter) hatted us! we were so loud! we laughed and reminisced all night! right up until 5 minutes before the movie was supposed to start! then we had to speed to the theater to get in on time! oh well... it was still fun!

oh the girlies! I do heart them!  It was nice to hang out with them all again! Hopefully we can all do it again soon! anyways.... that is pretty much all I have to say.  I have already gotten a headache from sitting here staring at the computer screen for WAY too long!! I never thought I would say it but I spend too much time on this thing...

enjoy!... or not! Your Choice!

December 22, 2010

Christmas Jitters...

I can't even believe that it is half way through December already... Where does the time go?  anyways, this month has been pretty eventful so far!  I turned 23 last week... which is totally weird! It was a nice day though! Ray took the day off which was nice! Instead of a cake I wanted gingerbread cookies! :) So here are just some fun pictures of our day!

Here is our end product... Ray's is the very left and mine are the other 2... mine are supposed to be Ray and Me.. Can't ya tell!? such a striking resemblance right?!!?

Ray also surprised me with these flowers!! They are so pretty!

I think I found a new favorite flower! These big puffy pink flowers are SOOOOO cool! I love them! and apparently they are the flower of the month! I want to grow them in my garden if I ever get one... although I think they wouldn't do well in utah.

Tender! :)

Anyways.... Christmas is this weekend and we are all excited here! Especially Ray! For the past 2 weeks he has come home from work so excited haha it is so cute! Everyday he'll say "Only ___ days until CHRISTMAS!!" or "I am so excited for Christmas!" and things like that! He is like a little kid it makes me laugh but I love him! Today is his last day of work (which is weird because the rest of the world got out yesterday) and I am sure he will come home from school today all hopped up on christmas excitement and everything haha.  We decided to spend Christmas Eve with his family instead of mine like we usually do and Christmas day at mine!  It will be totally weird and we will see how it goes... We may never switch again haha!

I also decided (this morning at 6 a.m.) that I wanted to make a Christmas card. I asked Ray if he wanted me to make one a couple weeks ago and he flat out told me he didn't want to.  To quote him he said, "No one wants to see our card.. We got married not too long ago and everyone is sick of us." Ok, so to be fair those weren't his EXACT words but it was to that effect! I think he just didn't want his picture taken haha So I just pulled one from a few months ago.  I think it turned out really cute! :) So Merry Christmas everyone and happy New Year!

November 22, 2010

I am feelin the Love!

I should have posted this post yesterday but as always... I was too lazy.. anyways, I had a pretty good day yesterday! At the beginning of the semester the 1st councilor in the bishopric cornered us one day and asked Ray if he could meet with the Bishop that week and said (and I quote) "you can bring your wife if you want." Yes!!! that meant Ray was getting a calling and I wasn't! Perfect! I laughed at him for the rest of the day and told him that I bet he was getting an awful calling like being a sunday school teacher or something like that! I also entertained the thought of him being in the Young Men's which wouldnt have been bad besides the fact that those types of callings take a lot of time that Ray is already lacking.  Anyways, Sunday afternoon the next week rolls around and we go to the meeting with the Bishop and he tells Ray that he has been called as a ward missionary (which entails chatting with everyone and their dog... every sunday AND he has to teach a sunday school class once a month HAHA). anyways he gives him details and then he turns to me.... I was shocked! I thought I was just there for moral support. I probably had the funniest dumbfounded expression on my face when he gave me a calling too! He asked me if I would work with the activity days program with another lady... unfortunately it was during school hours.  I sooo.. wish I could have taken that calling! There is this little girl that I would have been working with that is sooooo cute! Her name is Sadie and she has long pretty red hair and freckles! anyways, so a week later they come up with a "sunday only" calling.  They called me as a CTR 5 primary teacher. I was soooo mad!

In our last ward Ray and I were primary teachers for the 10 year olds and to say that I hated it would be a gave underestimation.  I was miserable and I literally HATED the kids. Which isn't a good thing when you are a primary teacher! I made Ray do the teaching and I sat there and yelled at the kids when they wouldnt listen. I thought they were snobby little rich kids that only care about their big houses and "awesome electronic toys".  I have NO patience for that and since I don't have any kids I have unrealistic expectations on how kids should behave.  The kids were miserable to I am sure.  When we told the primary president that we would be moving within the month she turned white and said (and I am quoting agian) "Oh no!! Not the 10 year olds! What will we do!?"  It's sad when they have to sucker the newly weds that dont know any better into to being the primary teacher these kids!  I was so happy when our lease for our apartment just because that meant we would be moving and would be released! It was a happy day when we were released! And it was nice going to church for a month or two without callings when we moved into our new ward.. but as it happens.. you dont stay like that for very long.

Anyways, needless to say, I accepted the calling to teach the 5 and 6 year olds. Luckily there were 2 other teachers that I would be sharing the job with so I felt a little better. But not much.  So I went to church the next week, was sustained and set apart and the next week they shoved me right in! I was really nervous. I hated primary before and I hoped this calling would be different.  I am happy to say that it is COMPLETELY different than what I was expecting.  I can honestly say that I love junior primary and I love my class.  They are the sweetest, cutest, smartest group of 5 year olds I have ever seen! I have decided that I love this age.  They are old enough that they are able to participate in an actual lesson and most are able to tell you details about gospel principles and stories that you wouldn't think they would know.  Yet, they are young enough that the actually WANT to participate! It is almost a fight to pick someone to say the prayers and when you ask a question you have to ask each individual child their thoughts or they get so worked up that you didnt call on them to answer the question!  It is sooo cute!

And they say the cutest things!  For example, yesterday I was sitting in primary by one of my favorite little boys in my class. His name is Caleb and he is the blondest boy I have ever met! It is his birthday on Wednesday and I was asking him what he was getting for his birthday and he looks at me funny and said "I just want to see my family ok?!" it was so funny! I didn't expect that. I expected him to say some fun toy or something.  And then, in class the teacher was talking about the resurrection of christ and how christ did that for us because we couldnt have been able to make it back to heaven without him and she asked "What is something that your mom does for you that you cant do for yourself" and Caleb said in a disgusted voice "She wakes me up REALLY early so I can get ready for school."  and the teacher replyed "How come you think she does that for you?" and his reply was so cute! He said in the most excited/happy voice I have ever heard, "Because she is so nice!"  haha apparently you can be appaled and excited at the same time when your mom wakes you up in the morning! Another funny thing was when the teacher asked "what holiday do we celebrate the resurrection of christ?"  and the first child to answer said Halloween haha they are hilarious!

After church yesterday I decided to take a nap and I am so mad that I did! because right before I woke up one of the cute little girls brought me over a plate of cookies! here is the little note she left for me with the cookies:

It says "you are the best teacher ever from hope to sister davis" I love it!  I love the picture she drew of us holding hands! It made my day! they were pretty good cookies too! anyways, I just love my calling and couldnt have asked for a better one.  The kids are so sweet and have the cutest and most touching testimonies.  They are all examples to me and always know what to say to make me laugh at myself!  I will be sad when this year is over and I get reassigned to a new class.. (maybe they will let me stay with this class.. I am crossing my fingers).  anyways....

enjoy! or not! your choice!
