Spooktacular October!

Ok so this October hasn't been THAT spooktacular  but I really do love Halloween! We havent been up to much since I last posted besides school, school, and more school.  There is hopefully an end in sight for me but unfortunatly Ray will be in school until he retires ;) HAHA that is what he gets for being a teacher! Anywho... It was Ray's birthday on October 8th and we had his parents up for dinner. We went to some stake house for dinner then went back to our apartment to have "Better than sex" birthday cake haha It was so good! Anyways Happy 26th Birthday babe!! Love ya!

Cheesin it up!!

After he blew out the candles!

ok I look gross but it was the only picture that Ray didnt have a really weird look on his face haha

Also the past month or so I have been really bored and I have embarked on a couple craft sprees! Here are some of the pictures I took of the crafty-shmafty things I did!

Ok this isnt something I have done recently... I actually made it before Ray and I got married!
It is hanging in our room above our engagement pictures! I think it is so cute! :)

My mom actually gave me all the materials for this!  It was a craft they made at girls
camp when my mom was still the president and so she let me have one of the
left overs! it is pretty cute! :)

This was such a long and tedious project! It turned out way cute though!
I decided that our living room was going to be decorated in Americana
stuff and as a sort-of-wedding-gift my mom gave me two of these copper stars
and I covered them in red, white, and blue paper and added blue and red flowers!
They turned out better than I thought they would!

And lastly here are some pictures of my latest project I have been trying out.
I am not very good yet but I am totally learning to crochet haha
i know it's like a granny craft but my stuff has turned out pretty cute!

This was my first project that I did! I watched a youtube video to learn how to do it
but it looks pretty good!

This is the second one i did and it is a little bit bigger than the blue one so
it might actually fit a baby one day haha

These ones are for me! I made headbands with cute flowers so I could put my hair up out of my face!
I actually like wearing them and I get lots of complements on them!
I will hopefully make more so I can wear them with more outfits haha

Anyways that is what we have been up to if anyone was wondering!
as always,
 Enjoy..... or not! your choice!

Two Buck Tuesdays!

So Ray decided that he wanted to go attend "Two Buck Tuesdays" at Thanksgiving Point! It was a cool day so it was actually a great time to go seeing as how this is our last free Tuesday of the summer (scary!)

We were sitting in the waterfall/amphitheater area and I decided to take some pictures!

Here we are again haha (oh... p.s. I got a hair cut haha It is very short but I like it! :) )
I was trying to get Ray to have a normal face... he doesnt do normal in pictures I decided haha

Here is the waterfall place.. not too bad for a huge man made waterfall!

This was way cool! It's a carousel covered in shrubbery and vines! It was so cute!
I love carousels!!

Here is a close up of the horses!

This is supposed to be the butterfly garden and it is in the shape of a butterfly
but you cant really tell.... you would have to see it from the air...
These were by far the coolest flowers there!
I will give you a dollar if you can tell me what kind of flowers they are!!
ok probably not a dollar but I still wanna know what they are called!

As always... enjoy!! or not! your choice!!

We went camping ;)

So this past weekend we got to go camping up on "The Property" (It's called big horn ranch and it's where you can buy shares that allow you to have your own little camping spot! It's really fun!) it was also their annual BBQ for everyone who owns a share and their families. Here are a couple pictures of the weekend! :)

Here is me and Ray at the BBQ waiting for the raffle.

Ray shot in the shotgun competition! :) He's pretty good!

This is my cute new niece Eliana! She was playing
peek-a-boo through the trailer screen door haha
She yelled "peek-a-boo Marlee" all the way from their trailer
while I was up at our awesome tent!m It was so cute!

She was trying to drive the 4-wheeler haha I was messing up her concentration

TADA! This is the balloon butterfly that I stood in line for for
like an hour! The line sucked but it was worth it!
Isn't it cute!!??
Here is my sweet shirt that we bought... yeah I now own
a shirt with an elk on it... (at least I think it's an elk.. haha)
Camping was fun! :)

Today I made this cute card! It doesnt have anything to do with our camping trip but I had to share! it's super cute! and I wanted to show everyone :)

Isnt it cute!?

So Delicioso!!!

So Sunday afternoon Ray and I made dinner and it was so yummy!! Ray's cousin gave me the recipe and most of the ingredients at my bridal shower a while back and we decided to try it out! And it was sooooo... good that I decided it share it with everyone! :) It's called...

Creamy Black Bean Salsa Chicken:
serves2-4 (but really more haha we will be eating it for like a week!)
2 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup salsa
1 c. chicken brath
1-15 oz. can corn, drained
1-15 oz. can black beans, drained
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. grated cheddar cheese

Directions:
-Place chicken in a slow cooker.
-Pour broth, salsa, corn, beans, and taco seasoning over chicken. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours.
-remove chicken, shred or chop it, and place back in. Stir in cheese and sour cream (unless you aren't going to eat it all at once. we just left it out and used some when we ate it)
-Serve with warm flour tortillas and rice.

**We like to mix our rice (about 2 cups uncooked) already cooked in at the same time as the cheese then eat it like a burrito! :) It is delish!

Hope you like it as much as we did!!

Newbie

So upon the event of our marriage I decided that it was acceptable for me to start one of these here blogs. Not that our life is all that fascinating... we don't have any cute kids to show off or report all their funny sayings. So I'm sure our blog wont be the most popular but it gives me something to do on days like today that I am sick and want to do nothing but lay in bed and put off cleaning and such nonsense! So anyways.... enjoy! ... or not! your choice! :)
