Oh how I LOVE to watch Brielle sleep! It makes me laugh! Ever since we brought her home from the hospital she has hated to be tightly swaddled.  She has to have her arms out of the blanket and there as to be enough room for her legs to extend (or she will kick and kick until they are free!).  She defiantly likes to SPRAWL!! It is so funny! She isn't like this every time she is asleep but it happens more often than not for sure! :) Here are a couple pictures! :)
This is what she looks like most of the time.

She also smiles A LOT when she sleeps. It is so funny.

In the mornings after Ray goes to work the chunky butt gets to sleep in bed with me.  I know it is a terrible habit and I am sure I will pay for it one day. But this is what I get to wake up to in the mornings!

Thank heavens for this bouncy chair! We put her in it when she naps during the day (another bad habit that I will most likely pay for later as well..). Se can sprawl pretty good in this chair lol

When she is startled by loud noises or movements this is what she looks like! She throws her hands up! This is by far the funniest thing she does!

After being startled... Love what her hands are doing haha

What up!?! haha I frequently find her like this when she is in her crib. I just love her chunky guts and livers! She is so cute and we are constantly kissing her chunky cheeks! She can be super cranky but she already has a cute little personality and we are excited to see how she turns out as she grows up! She defiantly keeps us on our toes and keeps life interesting!

Brielle's Pictures

We had Brielle's "newborn" pictures taken! Needless to say she is a little bit bigger than your average newborn and is A LOT more awake and aware... so we had a hard time getting her to cooperate! But I think the shots we got were super cute! The ones one the purple couch are my favorite! :)

anyways.. enjoy, or not! The choice is yours!

Our little addition!

So the last time I posted I was still prego and annoyed.  This post is far more exciting! :) As most of you know we had our beautiful little baby girl last weekend on Saturday, September 3rd.  We weren't expecting it to be that weekend but it happened non the less! I had a doctors appointment on Friday where I had a non-stress test to monitor the baby's heart beat, my contractions, and fetal movement. I had had one the Monday before so I wasn't expecting anything to be different.  However, half way through the test there wasn't much movement from the baby so they sent me to the cardiology department to have an extensive ultrasound.  In the ultrasound they were looking for normal baby movements (breathing, heart beating, wiggling fingers, etc.) and they found all that but they couldn't find very much movement. So my doctor decided that he didn't want to leave the baby in an unfavorable environment and sent me straight to labor and delivery.  That was a shock for me... I had plans to go to Swiss Days and to my nephews birthday party! Instead they hooked me up to an IV and all sorts of monitors and stuff. Then they gave me some meds that would make me start contracting so I would start dilating so eventually they could give me pitosin.  Well the contractions happened but unfortunately after 8 hours of being uncomfortable and tired I hadn't progressed AT ALL! I was still only dilated to "almost a one".  And unfortunately my contractions were too close together and too strong to even think about giving me the pitosin and my contractions were causing fetal distress.  So around midnight the decision was made that a c-section would be the safest route to take.
I was then taken to the operating room and given a spinal block (they are so weird... no pain but I could still feel a lot! weird!).  After I was all prepped and ready to go they started the c-section.  I was pretty scared to tell you the truth... it was pretty nerve racking. As soon as the doctors delivered her head the first thing they said was "Whoa... that is a big head!" and then they delivered the rest of her and I could feel a huge weight just lift away! (literally!) They cleaned her up and weighed her and everyone was so suprised at how big she was! She weighted 9 lbs. 8 oz. and was 20 inches long. I was shocked! At my ultrasound I had to have the Monday before they told me she was approximately 7 lbs. 12 oz. so you can imagine my shock when she turned out to be almost 10 pounds!! No wonder my belly was HUGE!! But it was all so worth it! She is beautiful! She has the cutest round face with the CHUNKIEST cheeks and has red hair.  She seems to always look ornery and we just love her!  We stayed in the hospital until Tuesday and then got to bring her home with us.  It has been a long and tiring week but we love our little Brielle and we couldn't be happier! :)  Here are some pictures to enjoy!!

Getting cleaned up and ready to go!!

This is Brielle getting weighted.... yep. Chunky already. She didn't even fit into the newborn diapers. She went straight to the size 1 diapers! haha

I love this picture because it shows her cute red hair! I just love it! I hope it stays red and gets curly!

This is an awful picture... this was as they were wheeling me out of the operating room and into the recovery room and they let me hold her for the first time!

Daddy! :) (notice the hat they put her in.. yeah it doest fit her big head!)

And here are her super chunky cheeks! they make me laugh! when we burp her they just jiggle and droop down!

She wasn't too happy to have clothes on. They were a little snug on her but thanks to aunt Saryn she had a super cute outfit to go home in!!

My favorite picture. Ray is so cute with Brielle! He is going to be a great dad and he has been a huge help and support this whole time and it makes me love him more and more every single day!

This is right after we got discharged and were about ready to leave our room to go home.  I love this picture! although unfortunately it is the only one of all 3 of us in the hospital but I still love it! We are all sleep deprived (except Brielle... all she does is sleep lol) but lovin life!

And I saved the best picture for last!! I caught her in a smile in her sleep! It was most likely gas but I love it! I love her cheeks and I can't stop squishing and kissing them! There will be more pictures I am sure but right now I should probably go get some sleep while I can!

as always... Enjoy! I know we sure are!

August 30, 2011

"Today is the day!!"

umm... yeah right. That is what my pregnancy countdown told me this morning! Today is my actual due date (August 30th) but today is defiantly NOT the day! I have yet to get a real contraction and I highly doubt they are going to start in the next little bit! I was hoping she would come early so Ray wouldn't have to stress about taking work off during the first weeks of school but seeing as how school started yesterday that plan is also shot! haha oh well... here is hoping for labor day weekend!... literally haha!

Anyways, I have some pictures of me as a prego woman starting with 19 weeks which is when we got to find out we were having a cute little girl!

19 Weeks

21 Weeks

24 Weeks

28 Weeks

32 Weeks

34 Weeks

(sorry it is sideways... I was too lazy to fix it!)
38 Weeks

40 Weeks (Due TODAY!)

As you can see I was cute in the beginning but near the end there was no where for the baby to go but OUT!  I have had people telling me that I have been carrying low for the past 2 months and that "you must be having that baby ANY DAY!" yeah well any day has come and gone and still no baby! But oh well... I had a doctors appointment today and there still hasn't been much change.  I have been checked 4 times now and I am still only about one and a half cm dilated and only slightly thinned.  Ray keeps telling me that I am "too good of a baby oven" and that "she is just trying to teach you patience!". Yeah well it's not working haha I think everyday I get more and more impatient.

I do have a theory though.  After we found out we were pregnant we decided to keep it to ourselves for a little bit but in that time SOOOO many people came out of the woodworks that they were also pregnant. At one point I could count 12 women that I knew that were pregnant and almost half of those were due either 2 weeks before me or 2 weeks after.  Right now almost all of those that were due close to me have had their babies except for one friend and my sister who are both due AFTER me.  They both have been showing signs that they may not make it to their due dates.  I am convinced that once these last 2 have their babies then (and only then) will mine come on her own! Just a theory but I bet she is doing it just to push my buttons! haha anyways, at my appointment today I had a non-stress test and an ultrasound to check the fluid and to see how big she is! According to the ultrasound tech she weighs about 7 lbs. 12 oz.  Which is in the 69% so slightly over average. It still sounds like a huge watermelon that has to squeeze through a hole the size of a lemon... OUCH! After she was done measuring and everything I had her check to make sure she was still a she haha... and just like the first time we tried to check she made it as hard as she could! but finally after a lot of that gooey gel and prodding her to move we got a shot and thank heavens she is still a girl!! :) Unfortunately we couldn't get  a picture of her face or anything cool like that so all I have is the "it's still a girl" shot!

So here it is... I couldn't see it until she described the photo to me but rest assured it is a girl!

I also needed to fill up some of my time so I decided to make a cute car seat cover! the Pink one is mine (obviously!) and then I had so much fun making mine that I decided to make one for my sister who is due here soon too! i Love the dinosaurs! :)

So anyways, hopefully the next post will be filled with pictures of a cute new baby! But until then that is all i've got!! :)

Enjoy, or not! Your choice!

Baby-moon....iversary?!

Holy cow... can you believe that Ray and I have been married for 2 years now!? It really doesn't feel like it should be that long.  This year we decided that it was time for a vacation and since I am prego we couldn't join Ray's family on their awesome 2 week Alaskan cruise in August we just decided to go somewhere close.  I originally wanted to go to Hawaii but when we priced it all out I decided I am too cheap to spend that much money on a vacation haha so we just went to San Francisco, California.
We left on our anniversary (June 12) and only stayed until Thursday.  So it was a short-ish trip but we had fun and I seriously doubt I could have gone longer.  Vacationing when you are 7 months pregnant is actually really difficult!

Anyways... we just chilled in our hotel and ate dinner the day we got there.  BUT, the next day we went to the fishermans wharf which was pretty cool.  We got to see the sea lions and then we just walked around to all the shops and stuff.  Then we went to the aquarium which to tell you the truth was pretty much the biggest waste of $30 EVER!  Then we went to Ghiridelli Square but I forgot to take any pictures... sorry!

I found me a new boyfriend... Ray should be jealous!

The next day we drove south and went to check out some redwoods! We got to ride a train through the forest and it was pretty fun!  Then we went to the Winchester Mystery House! It is the biggest, ugliest, worst built house EVER! but it was pretty cool to see some of the things inside! too bad they don't let you take pictures inside because there were some of the BEST stained glass windows inside!

I think Ray was in heaven looking at all the guns... I thought it was quite boring but hey... what do I know!?

The next day we got to go to Alcatraz but first I made Ray take me back to the fishermans wharf to get me some pearls! haha I totally fell into that tourist trap but it was fun and I got a pretty necklace out of it! Anyways, after that we headed out to check out the Alcatraz prison.  It was fun but I don't think I would ever do it again. You have to walk around with an mp3 player thing so Ray and I didn't even get to talk the whole time we were out there.  But oh well!

After we went to Alcatraz, I made Ray take me to the beach... although I was very dissipointed.  You can tell from the picture but it was not the best time of day to go. There was too much smog/fog crap.  So needless to say we only stayed for like 15 minutes!

On our last day in San Fran, we checked out of our hotel and decided that on our way to the Okland airport we would drive over the golden gate bridge! It was awesome... ok it was just a bridge but now we can say that we have done it!

This is us driving over the bridge... check out the excitement haha jk

Anyways, we are very glad to be home. I got the worst swelling in my feet and legs after our flight.  Luckily they have gone down and are normal now but I don't think I will ever travel during pregnancy again!  Now we are just trying to fill our time until the end of August when the baby will get here (can you believe that there is only a little over 2 months left?!?!)! Ray works with his dad almost everyday and I have been trying to catch up on all our laundry and stuff... fun for me I know! But, that is what we have been up to lately!

anyways, enjoy! or not! Your choice!
